Social Media marketing is fun, but when it comes to your business you need to be focused on results. Surprisingly, 1/3 of marketers are not measuring results. Check out these other great stats in the infographic put together by  the Pardot team.  Here are the highlights:

Social Media Marketing Etiquette 

Other additional points included in this infographic discuss proper etiquette for contacting leads. It is approrpriate to respond to a lead/prospect that contacts your brand by social media? Only 1.6% of B2B marketers responded no to this question. In my opinion, it makes complete sense to respond to a prospect on social networks when he/she originally reaches out to your company via a social network. The consideration is whether personal or sensitive information, such as health or financial information is being discussed. At this point, it’s better to take the conversation to a more secure and private mode of communication. 

Significantly more interesting, the same B2B marketers were split in regards to contacting a lead when the person originally initiated contact via another channel, such as over the phone or via email. Much of the debate most likely relies around the different interpretation of social networks. Clearly, some social channels, like LinkedIn, are intended for professional purposes. In this case, it would be natural to continue to business discussion on this platform. On the other end of the spectrum are more personal social outlets, in which you may annoy a prospect by making contact. When do you think it’s appropriate to contact a lead via a social network.
